Characteristics of Dyslexia

Dyslexia means  'difficulty with language'

If your child is behind in reading and spelling, they may have dyslexia.
Dyslexia can be formally diagnosed by an Educational Psychologist or an Education Assessor.

Regardless of whether or not your child has been diagnosed with dyslexia, if they are not making good progress in reading and spelling then DON'T WAIT.
Early intervention with effective teaching tools provides the best outcome for dyslexic learners.

Dyslexic Learners are 'picture thinkers'.
Everyone can think in pictures but some people think predominantly in this style.
Because of this way of thinking and learning, reading and writing are difficult for dyslexic students.
